The hinged bowl held the thick,pasty ink and the hollow handle held the long handled brush. This fine example is unembellished with a stylized geometric floral pattern -probably of lotus buds. The ink pot has a hinged lid with a swiveling lock to hold it closed . The piece measures 7 3/8" in length. - the ink pot is 1 3/4" by 1".
