(A barbers bowl is a ceramic bowl with one side indented to make room for the chin of the person to be shaved.) The bowl measures 10” diameter and it 3” deep. It is in excellent condition with no chips or problems. The long thin brown line is the glaze crawling in the kiln – not a hairline. The piece has an incised design of a Japanese woman washing out a scarf in a stream. Two of the smaller sides have designs of flowers blooming from under a rock. The remaining four sides have calligraphy which we believe are a poem – not translated.
