The design is a low relief design of a horse pulling a cart with what appears to be two passengers in it. The cart has a large fringed umbrella as a shade for the passengers. The shape of the horse and the two wheeled cart are what lead us to the conclusion that the tray is from China and probably dates to the mid 1920s to 1930s. The workmanship is excellent.
