A sweet little Meiji period gin-bari cloisonne bud vase with ten egrets showing on a ground of light blue to light pink. We have read that it was difficult for the cloisonne artists to achieve shading effect like this. The vase is in excellent condition with the exception of a tiny 3/16” nick to the inner rim of the vase. The piece measures 3 ¾” high and is 3 1/8” diameter at its widest. It is not signed. This is a fairly good sized Japanese mid-Showa Period soft green cloisonne vase. It has a hidden design of a band of flowers under the green outer color which starts just under the shoulder of the vase and extends downward about 4” towards the base. The vase has chrome rims and is not signed. We date it to the middle Showa period, most probably around the 1950s. The vase measures 8 3/4"H by 4 1/2" diameter at its widest. It is in excellent condition.

This type of Ando cloisonne was developed in the late Meiji and Taisho periods, circa 1890-1925. It consists of thick enamel that is then applied to copper bases – with the copper showing through in a majority of the surface. This particular box features two colorful birds amongst a number of stylized flowers and geometric figures. The corners of the box are bound in metal. The box measures 5 ¾” by 4 ¼” and is 1 ¾” high. A softly elegant Japanese cloisonne dish with a light ground in the center and a pale blue ground around the border. The center design is a subtle depiction of five groups of yellow berries with small green leaves. The border has a blue, white and green geometric floral design. The back of the dish is a design of scrolls karakusa on a light green ground and the center of the base is an aqua color. A handsome large cloisonné vase by the Ando company – we date this piece to the Showa period, circa 1950-1980. The vase size is 10" tall and is 5" diameter at its widest. inches. This is a most unusual and charming Art Deco themed cloisonne vase - circa 1925-1935. Measuring 7 1/2" tall and 3 1/4" diameter at the widest, the vase is in a very rare lime green color with a band of Egyptian Ibises on a golden ground. Beautiful early 20th century Japanese cloisonne vase - uses a combination of wireless and standard cloisonne to depict an egret standing in a pool of water. Note the reflection of the crane in the water done in wireless cloisonne. Excellent condition - measures 7 1/2" tall and is 4" diameter at the shoulder. Very nice blue gray ground gives a nice serene look to the piece. Dates from late Taisho to early Showa period - circa 1925 - 1940.
