| Early Japanese celadon porcelain boat decorated on all sides with continuous splashing waves in relief done in the classic stylized Japanese manner. Probably Hirado or Arita, circa 1880 - 1920's. Condition of this boat is Excellent, no damage, no chips, cracks, or any abrasions to the relief work. There is the tiniest kiln firing flaw, a U shaped little glaze pop which is located right atop one of the wave's little splashes, see photos. Celadon boat measures approximately 9 inches long by 4 1/2 inches wide by 2 5/8 inches high. There are photos with both a blue and white backgrounds for color comparison. This charming boat has a pleasing form, nice proportions, and is of generous scale. | |||||||||
