| A beautiful, crisp ukiyo-e print of a lovely court woman (bijin-ga) by renowned Edo period print maker Kunisada. The lady stands next to a kimono rack and under a temple bell which is surrounded with sprays of cherry blossoms. She wears a lovely Spring kimono decorated with scores of white ducks against a greyish lavender ground. It would appear that the lady has just stepped out of the bath as she is barefoot and the kimono is loosely arranged around her body. This could even be a portrayal of a geisha, however I think the hairdo is more refined than would be typical of the geisha. This excellent print has superb color and registration and is in top notch condition. Very nicely framed in a gilt highlighted wooden frame - a couple of nicks to the corners of the frame. The print has not been examined out of the frame - we believe the condition to be excellent - with no foxing or toning. Standard oban size - 15" x 11" - the frame measures 22 1/2" x 17". | |||||||||||
