| A miniature domed rectangular early gin bari covered box (kogo) with a superb dragon on the cover and stylized clouds on all four sides. This is by far one of the nicest early gin bari cloisonne pieces we have ever had. The entire piece has a bright royal blue gin bari ground and the green dragon and the pink and blue clouds are done in standard cloisonné. We date the kogo to around 1880 to 1890 - - the very beginning of the gin bari foil technique. This miniature masterpiece measures two inches long x one and one half inches wide x 1 3/8” high to the top of the domed cover. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or hairlines of any sort. | ||||||||||||||
