Shallow wide summer (sato yaki) RAKU tea bowl with a beautiful glaze in turquoise colors unevenly applied over a white / gray bisquit visible under bowl. This chawan is accented with a waxy oxblood red glaze dripping around edge and pooling into a matt volcanic texture inside bottom of bowl. Signed on bottom w/fingerprint and characters (Tanzan Sanzin Sanzan Taizan?) 5.5" wide x 2.5" tall. Great condition. Some crazing in glaze. No chips cracks or repairs. I would date this one to mid Showa period - anywhere from 1930's to 1960's.
