A Woodblock Print by Toyokuni III (Kunisada) – 1856
This is an interesting woodblock print by Toyokuni III (Kunisada - (1786-1864) entitled "The Priest Karukaya with the Boy Ishidomaru". This is a genuine Ukiyo-e Japanese woodblock print on mulberry paper with natural colored inks that was made by Toyokuni III in the late Edo period, 1856. It carries an Aratame censor seal and is oban size – approximately 15" by 10". Very good registration and color – some old wormage holes on the right side under the mat. Archive mounted with only the top margin affixed to the mat.
