| A striking dark cobalt blue - almost midnight blue - ground standard cloisonne vase with three superbly detailed birds as the design. The three pigeons and the two flowers with leaves all appear to be outlined in silver wire - usually the mark of Ota, a master Meiji era cloissone artist; however, it is not signed so a clear attribution cannot be made. The vase stands 5" tall and is 2" diameter at the widest part. Excellent condition - one tiny ding on the rear just over 1/16" in diameter. Dates from the golden era of Japanese cloisonne, circa 1885 - 1900. A classic beauty. | ||||||||||||
