| A set of three Japanese lacquer shallow sake cups in graduated sizes. Each has a different and well executed design of she shells connected with gold tendrils. The background is a red and the makie lacquer shells are in different shades of gold, silver, brown and black. The largest of the three measures 5 1/4" diameter whilst the smallest is 4 1/4" diameter - they each are 1/2" deep. They are in excellent condition. We date them to the late Meiji to late Taisho period, circa 1900-1925. | ||||||||||
