| A globular jarlet made in underglaze blue and white - dating from the late Ming to early Qing dynasties, circa 1625-1750. On two of the sides there are larger flowers enclosed in a circular blue line - the other two signs have loosely drawn vines connecting the floral reserves. At the top of the piece is a ring of rounded lappets encircling the upper shoulder. The base is basically unglazed although there are patches of a white wash. The piece has a crackle finish and a matte finish as opposed to a glossy surface - this could indicate that it had been a burial item. The jarlet measure 2 1/4" high and is 2 1/2" diameter at its widest. It is in excellent condition. | |||||||||
