A Chinese Rock Crystal Brush Rest – Qing

A well carved brush rest for the scholars desk carved form a solid block of rock crystal. The piece is formed as three scholars tending a large pot – the man on the right appears to be holding something like a ball in his hands – perhaps incense ? The brush rest measures 3 ¾” wide by 2 ¼” deep by 1 ¾” high and is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. We date the piece to the later Qing Dynasty, circa 1850-1900. A fine collection for collectors of scholars items and desk pieces.
