| This is an Imari dish that has been dated as from 1860 by a previous owner. The dish has all the classic overglaze enamel colors in its design – reds, greens, yellow and browns. The reserve design in the bottom of the dish depicts an inland sea scene of boats on the water and fishing huts on stilts sticking out over the water. In the background we find low hills nearby and taller mountains further away. The scene is surrounded by triangular geometric designs in three of the corners. The sides of the dish are decorated in alternating geometric and stylized floral designs. The dish measures 6 ¼” long by 5 1/8” wide by 1 3/8” deep. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restorations. | ||||||||||
