This is a thick book of black and white photos of Japan in the late 19th century. It is entitled - "JAPAN, HER COUNTRY AND PEOPLE". We cannot determine the publisher or date of publication because all that information in in Kanji characters. The book has a hardboard cover with a painting of Mt. Fuji and the ends are silk bound and string bound. The entire book measures 12" long by 6 3/4" wide by 1 3/8" thick. It contains literally hundreds of photographs of life in Japan at the end of the 19th century, circa 1880s-1910. It is in excellent condition and is an invaluable book for research into that era of Japanese history. |
