This is a small bowl with every rim that has a wonderful presence. The base glaze is a light tan – almost white. Over that there is a large number of small silver splashes that look like snows flakes and are very reflective. The bowl has an evert top rim and is signed on the bottom. We have not been able to figure out what the signature is – not even sure it is Japanese; however, we have seen Japanese ceramics with this type of snowflake overglaze on other Japanese ceramics. The piece measures 4 ½” diameter and is 3” high. It is in excellent condition. We date if to the 1950s- 1960s. A fine example of modern studio ceramics. |
